Do You Know How A High Carbohydrate Diet Can Lead to Easy Bruising?

Winter Sports Like This Won’t Help Reduce Bruising!

Hello Again:

We all have looked down at our body and noticed more bruising far too often.  It seems like we have bruises that have been caused by nothing more than a gentle bump into a wall or door.  If you are someone who falls into this category, it is time for us to take a look at what we have been eating.

Carbohydrates are blamed for a lot unpleasant issues with our bodies, and while they do not necessarily lead to easy bruising directly, it is still important to look at the foods that we eat that are high in carbohydrates and to take a look at how they affect the way that our body functions.

First, think about what bruising is and what it signifies.  Essentially, bruising is caused when the capillaries that are directly under the skin rupture and then the resultant blood pools beneath the skin.  This means that if we are bruising more easily, there is a high likelihood that our capillaries have a tendency to rupture more easily.

If we want to make sure that our capillaries do not break quite so readily or that they will repair themselves more quickly when they do break, we have to make a real effort to get plenty of iron, vitamin C and vitamin K into our diet. “Good” carbohydrates will actually aid us in this process through keeping our immune system up and working well for us, and by making sure that our body has enough energy and strength reserved to deal with any capillary damage.  Through following a diet that has “good” carbohydrates coming in, we can actually help heal a bruise faster.

When we are thinking about carbohydrates and how they function in our body, remember that all carbohydrates are not necessarily evil.  Though they do get a bad reputation from time to time, that is a result of people eating too many of them.  They help our body transport energy, through maintaining good cell health and through storing energy that is not immediately required by our body.  They also play an important part in keeping our immune system stimulated, something that is an essential component of our ability to help heal ourselves.

When we want to eat healthy, live well and heal bruises, think about what foods give us “good” carbohydrates.  Whole grains, beans and fruits are all excellent sources of  these “good” carbohydrates, and they will also give us access to vitamins, fibers and minerals that we would not otherwise be able to access.

We will find that when we plan our meals correctly, we will also be able to get a lot of vitamin C and vitamin K as well. Make sure that we look for those carbohydrates that are easy to digest and good for us as well.

Remember that eating carbohydrates without concern for what they are doing to our body can be a partial cause in our contracting diabetes.  Getting carbohydrates from highly processed foods like fast foods, and sugary soda can promote diabetes, which has bruising easily as one of its symptoms.

When we want to eat well, and when we are interested in reducing the easy bruising that we might be experiencing, we must consider how eating the right carbohydrates can have a role in maintaining our good health.  Maintaining a properly balanced diet is an essential part of what it takes to stay in good physical health, so consider what carbohydrates we include in our diet carefully.
